Description: This trilobite is a member of the Remopleurididae, a family of Asaphids not often seen in Morocco. Note the long bow-like genals and the long thoracic spine, because of which it is thought to have been a benthic dweller that may have used its dramatic genal spines much like snowshoes to stay at the seafloor’s surface. The disarticulated trilobite is Euloma. This is the first example of Apatokephalus I have been able to offer.
