Leonaspis spinicurvaDescription: Elegant example of an unusual trilobite which is one of two that possess a long curved occipital spine (the other is Kettneraspis prescheri). While some prefer Kettnersapis over Leonaspis based upon the pygidial spines, it is definitely a new species, one that has curried great favor among the collectors of the world. This example has been prepared with the occipital and genal spines entirely free of matrix, showing its trademark feature to greatest advantage. It is this curved spine which has earned it the specific name spinicurva.
