Kolihapeltis Moroccan Trilobite Description: A member of the Order Corynexochida, Family Styginidae from the Middle Devonian deposits of Aatchana, Morocco, this is a member of the genus Kolihapeltis. The dramatic occipital spines make this one easily distinguishable from other members of its family. With the advent of a reliable source of electricity in Morocco, the quality of preparation has improved dramatically over the past few years. This one took a great deal of effort to prepare the scimitar-shaped occipital spines free of matrix. This is a fine example of the type, available at an eminently-affordable price. Notice the fine eye facets, a sign of excellent preparation as well as preservation.
