Description: Fine example of a member of the Order Proetida, Family Proetidae with many fine details present. This one is a member of the genus Pragoproetus, a taxon known from both Morocco and Europe. While there are three described species known from Morocco, this one does not key out as any of those, and is thus undescribed. The Proetidae were among the last of the trilobites to go extinct in the Permian over 100 million years later. This is a fine example of a genus I have not been able to offer before. See my other offerings for an example of the genus Orbitiproetus.
