HapalopleuraDescription: This is an unusual trilobite comes from the Jebel Saghrou region of Morocco. The stratigraphy still needs work, as some material is definitely Cambrian and some Ordovician. This is a large trilobite of the Superfamily Trinucleoidea, and as such is related to the Onnia and other Trinucleidae. As yet it has not been described and not many of these primitive trilobites have been figured. The presence of an occipital spine is noted, but the pitting of the cephalic ring, a feature developed later, is not. It is closest to the genus Hapaloplura, a related trilobite from Argentina.
