Hoplolichas plautiniMany specticular trilobites inspire awe of nature's creativity, andsome of these may spawn drooling in the serious collector. Hoplolichas plautini certainly ranks among the top few, and of four amazing Hoplolichas from the Ordovician strata near St. Pertersburg, Russia, species plautini is arguably the most exotic and awe inspiring. This specimen is amazing among plautini, with superb preservation, it required about 6 full-time weeks of preparation owing to the many dozens of free-standing spikes that adorn the exoskelton. It's presentation is life-like, and it is hard to imagine a more three-dimensional display of a trilobite.
