Diemanosaukia miserabilisDescription: This is a part/counterpart example of one of Tasmania’s rarest trilobites, Diemanosaukia miserabilis. The genus derives its name from the Misery Hill location, which may have been a fit description of how the collector of the original samples felt. The exposure is heavily sheared and faulted; the collector from whom I obtained this example has never seen any Diemanosaukia more complete. Notice the detail to the portion of the cephalon that has been preserved here. I would certainly love to see a complete example; it would be a most impressive specimen, indeed!.
