ParkesolithusWell-preserved 3-D example of a member of the Order Asaphida, Family Trinucleidae. The cephalic pits (fenestrae) are evident, the means by which this trilobite filtered detritus from the seafloor. The trilobite presumably hovered at the seafloor, using its legs to kick up particulates which then passed through the cephalic ring. Despite the fact that only the cephalon is preserved along with a couple of additional parts of the cephalic ring of another, this trilobite is rarely offered, and is quite reasonably priced. In fact, one avid collector has never come across a complete example in his 20 years of searching.
