Description: Elegant example of a member of the Order Phacopida, Family Phacopidae with many fine details present. The most diagnostic feature of this taxon is the “Pinocchio” upturned rostrum (here over 10 mm long). Notice the fine eye facets present on this specimen. The rich dark exoskeleton is well-contrasted to the light-colored matrix block. Note the similarities to the “Pinocchio” trilobite with the exceptionally-long rostrum recently posted.
