Description: This plate displays a rarely fine juvenile example of a trilobite known as Hamatolenus vincenti, a member of the Order Ptychopariida, Family Ellipsocephalidae. The free cheeks are tightly attached, an uncommon occurrence, and the genal and pleural spines are present. This one is only about one fourth the size of a typical example, yet still displays the macropleural and genal spines typical of an adult. It is the smallest example I have come across in 14 years.
