Destombesina, a Pseudocryphaeus Moroccan Trilobite Impostor

Description: Elegant example of a member of the Order Phacopida, Family Acastidae with many fine details present. Notice the fine eye facets present on this specimen. The Asteropyginae recently have undergone revision. This one looks much like Pseudocryphaeus minimus (see my other listings), but with several differences. The eye has fewer lenses per vertical file, and a pronounced pygidial spine.. It has a distinctive rostrum present, as shown in the photos.
