Chlustinia Rare keyserlingi TrilobiteDescription: Here is one of the more rare trilobites of the Order Lichida, Family Odontopleuridae known as Chlustinia keyserlingi. This particular example is quite large for the type. Notice that the librigenae are tightly attached, a sign of a well-articulated specimen. It is quite prone, and dominates its bed of matrix. Few are ever offered; I have seen 5 personally in the last 14 years, few as well-preserved as this example, which is exceptionally 3-D for an Ordovician trilobite. The other remains are colloquially termed daggers by the diggers. I have yet to make up my mind whether they are some sort of cephalopod or shark spine. Also, see this even rarer Chlustinia keyserlingi trilobites death assemblage.
