Breviscutellum Oklahoma TrilobiteDescription: Breviscutellum is one of the most rare of trilobites found at Black Cat Mountain. Indeed, Bob’s wife Linda told me she knows of only 3 others as complete as this one in the 20 years Bob has been Breviscutellum Trilobite from Bois d’Arc Formation working the quarry. It came from the Bois d’Arc Formation which comprises the highest elevations in the quarry. This trilobite was prepared by Bob Carroll, a world-renowned preparator of Oklahoma Devonian trilobites. Others may use less care, resulting in a less desirable specimen. This is a fine example of the work of this master craftsman, one that few have ever seen, and even fewer have had a chance to add to their collection. I apologize for the plethora of photos, but for many these are all you will ever see of this truly unique trilobite.
