Description: While the many frond seen here looks they Cycadsbelongs to a fern, it is actually a bennettitalian cycadeoid known as Otozamites . Cycads were a common plant of the Jurassic; indeed, it is sometimes referred to as the Age of Cycads. They are still extant today, although a minor player on the plant stage, of which the “Sago Palm” (Cycas revoluta) is the best known. This is a fine example, preserved here in a paired nodule.
