Pharmacichthys Fish FossilThe genus derives its name from the belief of the scientist that described it that it might possess poison in the tall first dorsal spine. There is, however, no way of verifying that to be the case as the fish genus died out in the Upper Cretaceous some 70 million years ago.
This one is virtually without repair, a fine fossil specimen of the type.
