Exocoetoides Flying Fish FossilFossil Description: An unusual, rare example of a flying fish, as demonstrated by the dramatically-elongated pectoral fins of the primary specimen. The genus name is derived from its resemblance to Exocoetes, a modern-day flying fish. It is well displayed preserved in dorsal mode on its Sublithographic limestone matrix, and is quite complete. Note the eyes that stand out quite well in the skull.
