Description: This genus was only recently described in 1986, with few details available. This is a ventral example that shows many fine details, including a good presentation of the heterocercal caudal fin. Even the general outline of the body is preserved (NOT the result of painting by the preparators). The taxon is thought to be distantly related to the modern-day Sturgeon. The repaired matrix crack detracts little from the overall appearance, but affords the collector to obtain this fine example at a reasonable price.
