Burgess Shale Oryctocephalus burgessensis TrilobiteDescription: This diminutive trilobite is known as Oryctocephalus bugessensis. The source of the species name is easy to discern. At 8 mm in length, this is an typical size; some juveniles as small as 2 mm are also known. Coming from the famous Burgess Shale Fauna, this is a highly-desirable albeit diminutive member which will make a fine addition to any collection of Cambrian Explosion fossils. Given the World Heritage status of the site, only specimens from old collections such as this are available.
