Description: I have just recently been able to secure a selection of Early Silurian crinoids from Quebec Province,Crnoid Canada. This is a rare example opf Bucucrinus saccus, a recently described crinoid from the Sept Iles region of Quebec. Most are only known from fragmentary material, so one as complete as this is most unsual. The matrix is incredibly difficult to work with; indeed this one took some FIFTY hours to prepare. I am sure you would agree that the work was well worth it, displaying the baglike calyx for which the species was named in all its three dimensional glory. Note too the fine pinnules with which the crinoid filtered its food from the water column. See my other listings for a fine multiple assemblage of another crinoid from the region. To my knowledge neither has been offered previously.
