Scorpionfly Fossil Insect from MongoliaDescription: The Daohuguo Beds in Inner Mongolia have yielded a fauna much like that of the somewhat younger Yixian Formation. This example is a member of the Scorpionflies, Order Mecoptera. The absence of a “stinger” indicates this one is a female. Note the excellent preserved coloration to the wings. This would be a fine addition to any collection of insects.
